Like many B2B organizations, UL relies on data and information provided by their customers to fulfill its services. But the lack of digital access to this information made it difficult for the company to service it's customers and made the certification process somewhat of a mystery.

Our Solution

 

Through working sessions, interviews, sketches, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, we homed in on a concept for a digital solution that enables access to complex data from multiple sources with a handful of simple, well-designed templates. The customer portal concept provides customers with access to their information at anytime from anywhere.

UX Strategy

 

Planning the customer portal user experience drew on our deep knowledge of component based design and flexible interaction patterns to account for unknown data sources and requirements that could come to light over the lifetime of the solution.

Interface Design

 

The customer portal concept streamlines a once laborious and time-consuming process through an attractive and user-friendly interface inspired by the best of today's project management tools. The fonts, fields, buttons, graphics, and architecture were conceived and iterated upon to achieve an experience that serves the needs of a diverse audience.

Collaboration

 

When you work with us we like to say, "you become a part of our team and we become a part of your team," and this was certainly true of this project. Collaboration with UL's business analysts, subject matter experts, designers, developers, and customer service representatives was essential to our ability to solve the challenge at hand.
